Each GLASS session has a unique schedule based on the days of the week and the needs of our local service partners. The schedule below will give you an idea of a typical day.
Rise & shine! Grab a quick bite and head to the workout of the day, either a sports-performance group training session or a sport-specific workout. Led by our Mentors, workouts take place on campus in our gym facilities, at a nearby private school with fields and a swimming pool, or by the beach!
Journal time with your mentor and introduction to the leadership topic of the day.
Breakfast! A typical breakfast in Costa Rica includes cage-free eggs, gallo pinto (seasoned rice and beans), bread, fresh fruit (watermelon, mango, pineapple, and more!) All dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
Departure for a group excursion: surf lessons, a guided city tour of San Jose, zip-lining through the rainforest, or downtime at the beach.
Lunch at one of our favorite local restaurants. There is time before and after meals to shower and rest for a bit in your hotel room.
Time to get to know your GLASSmates––card games, pool time, group games, or grab a Mentor and go for a walk around town!
Sports clinic with one of our local non-profit partners.
Dinner. Students will receive a variety of meal options while in Costa Rica. There will be plenty of opportunities to try local cuisine––rice, beans, plantains, protein, fresh fruit and veggies––as well as opportunities to eat comfort foods such as pasta, pizza, sandwiches, etc.
Interactive and self-reflective leadership workshop led by our GLASS Mentors.
Lights out. Time to recharge for another full, adventurous day!
